The Cat House

It's not really a cat house, but a separate area within my pet boarding facility where my foster cats live until they are adopted through the SICSA Pet Adoption Center as well as three feral cats who are not suitable for adoption.  We keep it as homelike as possible with a few added extras.  It is climate controlled with plenty of room to allow for climbing areas, snoozing and playtime.  In addition, it is equipped with stereo, TV,  a separate quarantine area for new arrivals and an attached screened-in kitty patio.  Here's a little photo tour!

Everyone enjoys a good breakfast!
No finicky eaters here!   The cats eat only premium pet food and are all on a feeding schedule.
A hungry Moose!
Moose, who's on a diet, meows at me in front of the open refrigerator.

Amber

Amber joined us a couple of years ago when she was nine years old.  She is feral but I don't know how she ever survived on her own considering she only had one tooth!  When she was spayed, tests revealed that Amber is a possible FIP carrier even though she is healthy and shows no sign of illness.  For this reason she can have no contact with the other cats and has her own separate and quite spacious quarters.  She seems quite content and has come to accept me as her friend.

A late summer's afternoon on the cat patio Another view of the cat patio

A friend and I built a completely enclosed patio area for the foster cats to enjoy when the weather is warm.  The 'screen' is escape-proof heavy gauge metal wire.   I custom made the waterproof awning and using plastic PVC pipe and the leftover awning fabric we built the kitty hammocks you see in the photograph on the left.  Rain or shine, the cats all love lounging on their kitty patio!
